The Poli Ed Working Group is starting a new series of readings for this Fall/Winter, on the third Thursday of each month. At each session we'll talk about a something meaty (usually a book), but we'll also cover something that will take less time to consume (an article, movie, or video).  If you have the time to read everything, then great! However, if you're pressed for time and can only look at the smaller subject, that's fine as well. Even if you don't get a chance to do the reading, you should still come by and take part in the conversation.

We round out this season's reading group with Eddie Glaude Jr.'s book Begin Again: James Baldwin's America and Its Urgent Lessons for Our Own and the movie Judas and the Black Messiah.

DSA New Orleans will host a Health Fair + Brake Light Clinic. We offer free brake light changes, health resources, hot food, cool beverages, assistance with debt disputes, and talking with folks about Medicare for All. We really need volunteers! Come talk politics with us and test out how well you believe the things that you think you believe. Reading books is all well and good, but you have to practice pulling it out of your head and putting it into your own words. Beer can sometimes help that process.
